  • 5-Board Team Section - 4-rounds, G45;d5 - unlimited 5-board teams
  • High School Open Section - 5-rounds, G/30;d5
  • Middle School Open Section - 5-rounds, G/30;d5
  • Elementary School Open Section - 5-rounds, G/30;d5
• Awards
  • Top 3 Teams earn trophies in both Team Sections
  • Top 3 Players on each board earn a medal in both Team Sections
  • Top 3 Players in all Open Sections earn trophies, 4-10 places earn medals                                                              General Info:
    • Eligibility: Open to all IHSA teams; meets IHSA requirements.
    • Rules: IHSA (HS) | IESA (MS/ES) | Rating: Non-USCF rated event.
    • All players must bring their own boards, sets, clocks, and pencils.
    • HS and MS Sections are required to take notation
    • Each high school team will be assigned a classroom a long healthy walk away from the playing hall. MS and ES will have an open skittles space
    • Pizza Pre-order: 16" Wapaghetti’s-style thick pizza, $20 (Order by 9/29) Pre-ordered pizza via the registration link will be delivered at 11:00 am
    • There will be a small on-site concession stand
    • ONLY High School Coaches: Complimentary Chipotle lunch provided.
    • Entry fee
      • $120 per 8-Board team
      • $60 per 5-Board team
      • $15 per Open Player
      • HS Max $250 per school
      • Please make checks payable to “Stevenson HS” - Memo: “SHS Chess 10/3/26”
      • Please pay on site by cash or check. No credit cards accepted.
      • Any proceeds will raise funds for SHS Chess Club
